credit card problem

hi all

everything is working fine on the site, but no one can place an order as when they get to the page that captures credit card details the part that says: select credit card type - has a drop down box with nthing in it, but the mastercard, switch stuff is all beside the drop down box so you cannot select it.

any ideas? i havent changed the CC configuration since i upgraded to version 7

The checkout area is notoriously fragile - often with no apparent alterations - often saftest / easiest to reset the layouts ... typically "Payment Method Selection" and "Payment Phase" .. you can find these in the library and then right click > revert to factory default

I had the same problem as you after a V7-V8 upgrade too. I did as Jont suggests above and this solved the problem for me, so would also recommend this as a course of action.

this has not worked. reverted to factory defauls for both and uploaded the site again and has had no impact

I forgot an additional step that I had to carry out. If you locate the HTML responsible for the payment method dropdown box. you will notice the following code is present:

<select name="PAYMENTCARDTYPE" size="1"><select name="PAYMENTCARDTYPE" size="1"><option value="Mastercard"> Mastercard</option><option value="Visa"> Visa</option><option value="Switch/maestro"> Switch/maestro</option><option value="Switch/Solo"> Switch/Solo</option></select></td>

The above code contains nested SELECT tags, which is causing the problem. This should be changed to:

<select name="PAYMENTCARDTYPE" size="1"><option value="Mastercard"> Mastercard</option><option value="Visa"> Visa</option><option value="Switch/maestro"> Switch/maestro</option><option value="Switch/Solo"> Switch/Solo</option></select>
