Can you not just use the Other Info prompt at product level - thus, the question can be (with a quick little modification as shown in the KB) mandatory/optional when adding to cart.

I don't think this would work as it has an associated cost of £1.50 per white case of thirty (unit of order) we pack.

I did think about changing the shipping option as a work around on a per item basis as in "ship bulk" or "ship as finished goods" but then the actual shipping cost was all to cock, tried a handling supplement but that's not optional...

This is a great solution! Thank you.

I am trying to expand and make this only available to retail customers and not other customer groups. How can this be achived? I tried block if statements and the "EnabledForCustomerGroupID" variable however I am running around in circles trying to get it work work properly.

Blockifs only run on the desktop, not online, you'll need to use the NOTINB2B tags, details in the KB, in customer accounts section i think (from memory).

The 'B2B' tags with a choice & attribute were my solution, the default was set to £0.00 and then a choice of packed / unpacked allowed the item to be shown with different pricing and in using show as seperate orderline this was quite clear at the physical processing stage.

See http://www.naughtyvend.co.uk under the Vending Products section, my choice is to pack the goods or not which is roughly the same as gift wrapped or not.
