Looking at your site it is standard V7 and I would expect it to upgrade very easily based on my past experience of that theme.

If you are hacking and slashing at the database then you have possibly corrupted it as you do not EVER need to go in there IMO.

I would start again by uninstalling and reinstalling V8 and importing a V7 snapshot - if you are still having problems then contact Actinic support or a designer either of which should be able to do it pretty quick or identify what the problem is - it could take you weeks to sort out other wise.

The idea I had was that you could copy in one site, change sites, and then paste, but you can't because the copy/paste buffer is cleared when you change sites.

My next suggestion was going to be to create a V8 site containing only the missing products and sections, then export that to file and then import it to the live V8 site, which is similar to what you are trying.

You need to make sure that firstly you take a snapshot, just in case something goes wrong, that you import in update mode and that you copy the images from the old site to the new before trying to import. Copy them into their old locations and then you can update them afterwards, or if you don't want the image details to be transferred, just remove the images fields from the import by deleting their names from the middle column.

hacking and slashing at the DB

no sur ive only been taking data or adding data into the product table, like the descriptions that did not copy over, or the prices, but i was very carefull and its worked a treat, i simply cannot copy over the old format catalogue into the new format, ive tried everything and it only copies over about 80%......this is even when im go back and do the origional import pre hacked and slashed db

          Regards,

          I have tried that m8

i created a third "dummy" site and i can import the the desired stuff after ive deleted duplicates and images and stuff, but then that leaves me with the problem of importing all the new manuually inputed data into this dummy site as i get the same erros when i do that
