    Fatal Error with Price

    A client of ours has just done an upload with some new products added to the acatalog.

    All is fine except for the Price field. The price is now being displayed as

    Price: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: priceformat() in main on line 1 ( Fatal error: Call to undefined function: priceformat() in main on line 1 Including VAT at 17.5%)

    What could have gone wrong? We have tried reverting to a backed up snapshot and a backed up Site1 folder, but this has not solved the problem.

    They are now reinstalling Actinic to see if this helps.

    Anyone know what this problem is?

    What version are you using? I remember this happening to us at some point but hasn't for ages. I think compacting the database cured the problem.

      Version 8.something

      I will get them to try a Database compact and see if this sorts it out.

      Thanks

        I have just got this error. Compacting the database did not resolve it. Anyone any ideas please?

          Look in C:\Program Files\Actinic v8 for the file actinic_main.php

          Check that it contains:

          Code:
          function priceformat($sFormat, $sPrice, $sPriceAlt)
          	{
          	printf($sFormat, $sPrice, $sPriceAlt);
          	}

              Price: Fatal error:Call to undefined function: priceformat() in main on line 1
              A common factor on both my PC's is that I have just switched from Norton Internet Security to Kaspersky IS 7.

              I have looked at all the ususal 'culprits' but cannot see what is causing this. I am loath to refresh the site with recent product changes in case it brakes the whole site.

              Help..

                Try loading up in test mode first.

                  Would not upload, ftp/permissions problem. Don't know why. Will try later. That does not help find the reason for the site on my PC is showing Fatal error alongside all the prices.

                    Disable Kapersky (unplug from 'net for safety). Close and restart Actinic, Preview a page and see if error is still there.

                    If so it's unlikely to be Kapersky.

                      I have tried that Norman, first thing I did. It made no difference, but there could still be a link. This has happened to all 3 PC's after installing Kaspersky IS7. The 4th PC is still running Norton and does not have this problem.

                        I think you'll have to try completely uninstalling Kapersky on one system and see if that helps.

                        If it doesn't, it may be that Kapersky has done a full system virus scan and has gone and "repaired" or quarantined something in your Actinic installation.

                        You could try comparing files in the C:\Program Files\Actinic 8 between two systems.

                          That was my last option. Does anyone else out there use Kaspersky IS7?

                            Kaspersky and Actinic issue

                            Price: Fatal error:Call to undefined function: priceformat() in main on line 1
                            This is an issue between Kaspersy and Actinic, but cannot tie it down to a specific.

                            I uninstalled Actinic the reinstalled - same problem.

                            I systematically disabled each module in the Kaspersky Protection control panel - File Anti-Virus, Mail Antivirus, Web Anti-Virus, Procative Defense, Firewall, Privacy Control, Anti-Spam, Parental Control - in that order. Reopened Actinic - all OK.

                            Re-enabled each module one at a time, closing and reopening Actinic each time. All OK until all were re-enabled - back to the error.

                            So I tried them all in differing orders - it did not matter - same problem.

                            I did this a few times until the error was gone all the time, then rebooted. Error still gone.

                            I have no idea what part of Kaspersky was doing this but there appears to be an issue.

                            Fingers crossed.

                              I think you should make sure Actinic support know about this.
