I'm currently renaming product references to make stocktaking easier.
I have all my stock stored in sizes and, from starting up, I've always had my product references with the size at the end.
But when it prints out stock lists...it's all jumbled up, alphabetical by the start of the product code and so a PITA to tally up with stock as I'm darting about the list all over.
So, i'm renaming (brave or stupid!) and putting the size at the beginning of the code so they all come out grouped by size.
I've switched off the marketting lists for the duration of the naming process and am regularly backing up (paranoid? moi?)
When I rename an associated product (hidden or otherwise), I get the attached dialog (which I expected)
So, I duly select "YES" to update with the new product reference....and it doesn't. EVER
It just replaces wipes all reference to the product from the permutations tab. Emptying the "associated product" column and reverting the "pricing" column back to component prices.
So, basically it doesn't do what it says it's gonna do (theres a shocker )
I'm having to go through and re-associated all these products as I redo the product references...which is extra work I shouldn't be having to do.
Has anyone else come across this?
