problems viewing cart pages on a different computer

I've stopped at home today to check out my website from a different computer. Different screen resolution etc...apparently some of the pages were breaking 1024 but I can't see any that do on my PC (which is 1024 as standard) which is a bit of a PITA really.

Anyway, was going through the website (Budget Bumps) and trialled an add to cart from the extended info window to make sure it still closed the pop up and loaded the card in the main page...which is did...BUT all the links are broken.

I tested it again on my laptop, to make sure I hadn't actually broken anything,
and it works fine on there so it's obviously not a site problem...maybe a browser/security one?

I haven't changed any settings in FF that I'm using on the PC and it's loading other sites fine (have checked other Actinic sites too)

I know it's a bit of a shot in the dark, but has anyone any ideas why it might be showing all "broken" like that? I'm just a bit concerned now that customers might get it too

Thanks...and sorry for sounding like a dimwit

actually, on further investigation, none of my cgi links work on this computer!

If I try to access an item via the best selllers or new products menu, it just "bounces" me back to my default homepage page

    Now my brain hurts

Just checking your site and it works fine in ie7 & ff on my pc, with my conection. probably not much help aside from slightly reassuring you that it works?
Only thought I had is that of a dodgy connection at the time (though if other actinic sites were working ok then prob not connection) or perhaps a server problem with whoever is hosting your site?

            ahhhhh....Louise THANK YOU!!

cleared all private data (cache/cookies etc) and now it works!

omg...that was a scary moment when I thought I'd broken it!

now,, I just need to track down those elusive pages that are breaking 1024
It doesn't do it here so I'm not sure how to find them!

Np, just checking it at 1024 here checked various pages works fine. P.S I noticed on this page [LINK] on the right hand side new products list I am getting the old Actinic double exclamation marks on a product:
!!<Turn your fridge into the hub of your home and see ...

ugh...yeh, thanks Louise. I knew about that actually. I suppose I should change it but I really wanted that listing to start with bold text.
Mind you, now I've duplicated the item elsewhere, maybe I'll link the new products to the duplicate and lose the embedded html on that one listing.
Thanks for the reminder and thanks for checking the pages too.

It's frustrating because, while my laptop has a res of 1280 (which I always use to work on), I do always check the pages in 1024 using the developer plug in on FF to make sure they don't break.
Yet still I'm getting reports of pages breaking in 1024 that some people are seeing and some aren't.

You've got some problems going on with that table in the middle of that pages that contains the main text content, because if I take the table out then it fits 1024.

Depends how your templates for this table is built up, is it something you know how to edit?

                        ish LOL

I'll have a play with it.
It's using upgraded V7 templates atthe minute although even if I change it to use a standard V8 fragment layout (it's currently using an amended product layout) it still doesn't fit.
I'll switch it over to a (hopefully) standard V8 fragment layout do a bit of trial and error on it and see if I can sort it.

If not, I'll probably be back!

                        Thanks again, Louise
                        Cheers

grrrrrrrr...I was hoping to preview on my PC and change/upload from the laptop but now, for some reason, my laptop won't connect to the wireless network so I'm having to upload from the PC and snapshot back to the laptop later (or recreate the changes..either/or)

                          ok..I'm reuploading THIS PAGE
(different one to before but was using the same layouts and also didn't work in 1024....was just a simpler, easier page to change first)

Now it's using a standard "Text and title" V8 layout but it still doesn't work.
Section width is set to 100%, product width to 90%
Apart from that, it's using the same as every other page on site.

It's taking a while to upload....I know now why I hate transferring snapshots and working on a different computer!

It's using the same fragment layout as my homepage..so why the difference?

OK i need to go find an old browser here, i fits fine in FF but what i do notice, i seem to have differences in the fonts in your collapso menu, i think this might be more to do with the way css is rendering between browsers, so the padding and things is different

Could be way off here, but just a thought

Darren....are you TRYING to stress me out this morning? lol

ok...off to check the collapso now. I had noticed the fonts seem tiny in FF on the PC compared to the laptop. It's fine in IE though.

FFS...starting to wish I'd just gone to the office instead now!

                              This is all Lee's fault
