It seems to me that the Community needs some new guidelines for site review threads. A few of these newer posters probably do not understand that they are asking to much to be given explanations to carry out tasks that are suggested to them so there has to be an understanding that when posting that the review is just that, a review. Nothing more.

There has been some sites improved massively since they were launched as an `out of the box` site, and many improved and modifications made by `shop owner` type people as opposed to paying someone to do it for them. This forum, when used properly, can make many difficult, or even well nigh impossible tasks, become possible by a one site Actinicer.

I suggested before that there should be a showcase or review forum where people can debate and add constructive criticsms to sites and as pointed out, give a good indication of what is possible with Actinic.

For some human beings getting a mere out of the box site online and selling is a massive achievement.

I have to say that I totally disagree with two page threads taking out your anger, or indeed taking the p*ss out of someone or their site. The poster has already said why he took the thread offline, he obviously didn't see the error himself and wants to correct it before he gets any more comments.

Theres no need for this kind of bullying on here.

Why post saying `I don't do reviews anymore`? Just leave it to the people who are willing to add comment.

G whilst i agree with your comments and am also responsible in part for taking the piss on occasions. I do agree that if it aint constructive dont post it

but likewise, actinic need to get off there arses and decide if they are going to support this forum in the support of moderating it or they are going to appoint moderators, and im not talking about weekend moderators to delete spam posts either.

G unfortunately we always come back to this same point, but at the end of the day, the search function is shit and its impossible to find any post that is more than about 4 months older if it has a common keyword in it.

All said an done it does not excuse bullying, but as pointed out, simply deleting the url and telling people there is a problem with the site in certain browsers, not keep on deleting threads which actually seems to be common occurance these days. Remove the option from peoples accounts, it is possible because i cant delete threads i start. If you are unhappy with the comments then actinic need to make it clear giving people a email address to register the concerns and let a moderator decide or even warn a member.

For the same reason you felt the need to say the above pointless sentence i guess. It's a forum for discussion, not for everybody with exactly the same opinion or outlook to discuss things, that would be darn boring. Variety is the spice of life.

I find some of your posts smutty, i have found some a bit rude at times and some are plain tedious, do i need to pull you up and play 'holier than thou' on those when i see them? No of course not, i just ignore what does not interest me.

                  Lee,

I'm not going to go down the whole right or wrong route, I just don't see the point, but I personally think there is a difference when somebody says something inappropriate for a public forum and when someone has a go at another person without good reason. The guy apologised, that should have been end of story.

I would imagine that it was maybe this comment
With intelligence of that sort, you'd be lucky to find a pulse, let alone a reason to explain the pulling of a thread
that George found a tad unfair, certainly I think it was a bit over the top. I'm not having a go at you at all, but for me, I'd take smut over that any day.

Now, can we all go back to being friends again!? IT'S FRIDAY!
                  Cheers

If he did, fair enough, come out and say that instead of dancing around the issue.

I would always prefer to hear what someone really thinks, than hear smut everyday of the week, but that just illustrates my point. Whether you are rude, prude or both, you will have a differing opinion. As long as you have an opinion, personally i do not mind.

One thing i will say is that this guy has probably taken the brunt of a few people annoyed about recent reviews being deleted, if that be the case, then that certainly is unfair. People deleting threads where people have put some genuine hard work in to help, is terrible IMO, but this guy only deleted one, not all of them, it just happens that his might have been the 'straw' as they say.

Very sorry about that but its still a tidied up version of me in real life so I guess theres not much I more I can do about it.

I was not referring to any post in particular maybe that what, half a dozen or more forum regulars seemed to be ganging up on one member. Whether that is justified or not is an open debate. I didn't think so and decided to comment on not just this but the entire subject of site reviewing to perhaps make it a little better, or even a more relaxed issue for future threads. (I think some are good reading)

The fact (for me) at least remains that (newish) members can be naive (with requests for more information, or being offended) without realising it.

I'm obviously in the minority though, on this subject, and accept that, not a problem.

                      Have fun.

I wouldn't want you to, even if i could. I have no problem with anyone having a personality of their own. You have made me laugh, far more than cry or turn my nose up, so i just accept you as you are. I would still love for Pre-V8 George to re-appear, but alas i think that crusade is over.

I wholeheartedly agree, site reviews are often excellent reading and give many the possibility to say "shoot i do that on mine, better get it changed" etc. and that is one of the main reasons why it is annoying when 6-12 people have put some free time in to try and help people and that person then deletes it. That gets my goat, whereas me questioning peoples intelligence does to others, i can accept that.

Sorry to have wasted your time
You didnt waste my time - I notice you are a designer and I supect that is the real reason you pulled the thread is to stop your client seeing you are getting help from the forum?

BECAUSE someone asked the question - DOOOH.

No worries we can leave all the site reviews to you now.

I think wer'e going off thread here, I thought the thread had changed into a discussion about kitchens and bedrooms.

On that point, can I point out that the only reason females have smaller feet than men is so they can get closer to the sink.
