Bestseller List Problems & two more

    Hello,

I have just taken over the reigns of an Actinic site that was designed by someone else. The site is www.constructionchemicals.co.uk. There are a few issues that I have with the site at present.

1 The bestseller list down the right hand side bears no resemblance to the bestsellers & the prices are wrong. How can I fix this? The bestseller list that should be displayed by Actinic does not seem to be there.

2 I would like to add a links page to the site. How might I best go aobut this using Actinic?

3 The extended information popup window displays information but the back button seems to have been removed - can anyone tell me what has gone wrong here?

    Thanks

    Sam

Use the design view or DW and remove the current layout and insert the best seller variable

I would set it up using brochure pages with fragments if you only have a few otherwise I would use dedicated software

Go into the design libary and revert the layout to standad

                Dear All,

Thanks for your responses - I shall try them now & report back.

I am worried about reverting to the standard layout, however, will I lose any formatting elsewhere on the site?

The site is v8 but was developed by someone else using v7.

you will need to look at other pages on the website to see if the bestsellers are displayed anywhere else in order to be sure of this.

However if you aren't sure the best way to progress is to take a copy of the faulty layout and save it somewhere safe, then revert to standard.

If you find you do need the other layout - voila its saved.

You could also use the compare facility which changes nothing.

                      Hello,

I'm well underway with your help & things seem to be going fairly well. The only thing I can't understand is why the Best Sellerscolumn is wider than it needs to be. I thought I'd made it 154px wide (150 being the width of the pictures & 2px padding each side but the column seems to bleed off to the right. Can anyone tell me why this might be (it makes the 'Best Sellers' image at the top repeat & that's rather unappealing.

Content wider that the space you are giving it, uncleared floats or both. Either way a URL is the only way for us to see.

The URL is www.constructionchemicals.co.uk - sometimes the bar is wider/narrower on differnt pages. On some it seems to be around 154 & on some it's much wider.

The CSS applied to the image gives it a right margin of 18px. The table is only 150 wide, so 150 wide image + 18 margin = 168 absolute minimum. Pretty simple really.

I would imagine when it doesn't bugger up it has smaller images than 150 wide showing, but i'm sure you'd have noticed that obvious fact, so maybe something else is playing up. Can you provide a url to a page that is working and one that is not, to make things easier to solve.

This one seems to work (I'm aware I have to tweak the bit at the top by 4px): http://www.constructionchemicals.co....equipment.html

                              This does not: http://www.constructionchemicals.co...._products.html

                              Thanks
