    Hi Chris,

We had the same, implemented the Actinic GA and lost four days of Ecommerce data. Rob has re-written our own Google Ecommerce code which we uploaded on Monday and we have got our info back online.

We will release V9 analytics as a Plug-in, but hadn't got it planned because we knew it was incorporated in V9.0.1. If you want to contact me off forum I can discuss it with you

    Regards

Have you both followed the instructions in the help to activate ecommerce tracking at the Google Analytics end?

I think how Google Analytics worked with the previous urchin installation (which are the instructions here on the community) is different to how it works with the new Google Analytics tracking code. You have to configure it differently.

I have noticed some odd things, but i am convinced this is more google than other things, google shows me only 11 people reached the goal yet i have loads of orders, My goal is the recipt, also i notice various data does not match.

I have decided to let it run for abit as there is a large amount of data google is storing and sorting. Then i intend to check the data that is more than 48 hours old, although it says 24 hours this is definately not the case for some information, it shows no sales in the morning, some in the afternoon then the next day the results are completely different and im talking about sales from the 22nd

who knows how accurate all this is?

          Hi Darren,

We were running Ecommerce in V8 and the information is up to date and priceless. We tried for 4 days to get the Actinic implementation running in V9 and in the end gave up re-wrote our own code to give us the information. You know how it is, once you are used to receiving good information you can't live without it.

Chris, I'll ask Rob to contact you in the morning with the steps that he took to try to get it running - we didn't just roll over and give up, we really wanted it to work

John, are you getting asked for your signature after appearing on the BBC? I had a feeling it was going to be you and then saw a different company name (inexia or something like that) and then the good ole BBC slipped in your company name on a box and I smiled.

Mind you Gabe has been having problems, we were discussing this yesterday and he has a thread here http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=36967 maybe some of it has not implemented very well on some sites that have been upgraded

But i know what you mean about the info, it does allot of the things sadly lacking in actinic.

                Evening Lee,
We woz in the BBC and it was very exciting, we had actually arranged to ship a parcel against a fraudulent order on Tuesday and the Plod (and BBC cameras) were waiting to follow it in to the delivery address and smash the door down and arrest the b*****ds. We were tracking the parcel on the Interlink website, and at 8:50 it came up as no one in - carded. We were devastated, but the coppers then decided to execute the warrant anyway and went in mob handed arrested 4 (all asleep in their beds which is why the delivery couldn't happen). One up to the good guys!

Nice One John, is a shame that it took the bbc to actually get the police to track a parcel to a known fruad, someone on here offered to assist the police in this way before.

Apparently crime is going down, more likely people cant be bothered to report it.

Bet it adds a little excitement to the day though

                      Hi Chris,

Rob has just updated our Google Analytics/E-Commerce scripts to work in V8 and V9. You can copy them from Google Analytics

We'd appreciate a link if you decide to use it

It's all very strange as other customers are up and running with Google Analytics ecommerce tracking fine. My guess is that the upgrade scripts aren't adding in the ecommerce tracking code into the layouts correctly.

I'll look into it - but in the meantime you can also try restoring the following layouts back to factory settings if GA Ecommerce tracking isn't working after upgrading from v8 to v9...

Shopping Cart Product Details > Cart Product Details
Shopping Cart Grid > Checkout Shopping Cart Grid
Shopping Cart Grid > View Cart Page Shopping Cart Grid
Shopping Cart Table Row > Product Line Row
Web Page Outer Layout > Receipt Page Layout

                          Hi Chris,

I did wonder if they are using Analytics, but not E-Commerce which are two very different beasts.

Rob has just left for a week of well earned holiday, and we won't be doing any messing about (that is messing about) until he returns, but we will give it a go when he is back at his desk

Ah, I'm glad I've found this as I've been suffering the same problem. I removed all the code I'd setup in V8+ and now all I get is the hits data and no sales data in GA.

Just thought i would mention that the actinic help file is wrong with regards the setup

under step it shows you including the full url of your receipt page, this is not correct. I guess it may work for some, but google states this

Note: URL should not contain the domain (e.g. For a step page http://www.mysite.co.uk/step1.html, enter "/step1.html").

hope this helps some of you
