Looks like you are not on a brochure page and therefore fragment column count would not work. On section pages you have product or section column count, on brochure pages you have fragment column count - mystery solved.

I've managed to get my fragments appearing on the same line, where it's right or not is another matter. The fragment layouts are linked to 'Bare Product List' which in turn is linked to the 'Standard Section Page',

I edited the list layout settings for the 'Bare Product List' as the attatched pictures show what i've added.

In doing this, my product layouts have now altered abit. Is there a way of using a different product list for just the fragments so that, it doesn't affect the product layout?

Once this is achieved, how do i then get the fragments to appear "above" the sections!?

        Hiya,
I have defined a new layer, just for fragments, and added it under the product layer. BUT, how can I change the numer of columns for this new fragment layer? Any thoughts?
        Thanks.

You can't, fragment column count is only on brochure pages.

Just to update the forum, this can be done (after having spoken with Actinic Support). By going into the layer with the fragments, edit the list layout settings, Edit Rows/Columns, First Middle Last, No of items, Middle Rows, change to 2. This sets up 2 columns for the fragments.

I achieve this by stripping away the table structure in the layout lists and using CSS to format the fragments - this provides far greater flexibility as you can mix and match the number across all the way down the page (not simply first and subsequent rows) . eg the homepage at http://www.barrelsandbottles.co.uk/ is all set using fragments

If you adjust the list layout, this can affect all pages using that list layout. If you are going to manually adjust at list layout level, then you'd be wiser to create a specific list layout for just the page you want to do instead. List layouts are global, be careful of making global changes, later on down the line you could be up that creek without the paddle.
