    Killed one of my sections

I've been and deleted one of my main sections! Not sure how I did it but I have. I do have a recent snapshot which has 99% of the products in it and I can stick on another PC.

If I export the catalog from that one, can I delete all the other sections from that file before importing into the current site?

    Do you have Business Plus?
Can you license a new site and just copy/paste the section across from one to the other?

Think I've got it. Did a snapshot, imported the old snapshot and copied the section to the clipboard. Re-imported the current site and pasted. Seems to have worked. Just snapshotting the site again before I check if its OK.

          wow...well done then
Wasn't sure if it'd work being left on the clipboard but I guess it does if you're doing the process as quickly as that!

Certainly quicker than doing an import etc

Take care with C&P ... it is a finnickety blighter and can sometimes trash the whole site ... upload crashes seem to be the favourite time to throw a hissy fit. Keep your old ACD under safe lock and key for the moment.

either he has feel asleep on his keyboard trying to get it to work, or he is sleeping like a baby because everything went well.

I think it sailed through and Steve went to bed and is now dreaming of Claudia Schiffer and a tub of cream.

This is one of the most useful threads I've read in ages - I had no idea you could do this - this will save me sooo much time, as I have three sites that share a common section, and I was doing it as hierachical export import.

I understand about copying and pasting being slightly dodge - but i'll back up first - even so - WOW.
