    ftp error

I was running 9.0.2, everything worked fine this morning and I ran "Publish To Web" to implement some changes.

I upgraded to 9.0.3 and now I can't refresh the site (as instructed in the upgrade) because I get the dreaded ftp error. I unchecked 'Use Enhanced FTP' and ran 'Test'. It now gives me the following error:-
You do not have write permissions to the cgi-bin directory "/public_html/cgi-bin/" or it does not exist.

That is ludicrous - it's been working for the last year and, using FTP Commander Pro, I can see that permissions and existence are perfectly correct!

OK under network settings you need to change the script id number, the reason is i have had issues with most sites upgraded to 9.0.3 changing it seems to fix it. Once it was working i restart actinic and change it back.

OK, the network settings test works ok after changing the script ID.

However, trying to refresh the site still gives me the ftp error!

I'm now getting the following error:-

Actinic received a server error from the web server. The CGI scripts are not executing properly on the server. The error could be caused by several things. Check:
            - the 'Path to the Perl shell'
            - the 'CGI script extension'
            - the 'Path to CGI-BIN'
            - the 'CGI-BIN URL.
            - the amount of web space left on your server
            - if your server is configured to accept POSTs to CGI scripts
            - the permissions on the server:

On Linux/Unix based servers the permissions should be:
            cgi-bin (755) – drwxr-xr-x
Online Store Folder (777) – drwxrwxrwx

Run Web | Configure Web Site Details... to review your web site configuration.
            --------------------------------------------------
My server is Linux and I have 200MB of space available. The permissions are exactly as specified. Paths are correctly specified - as I said earlier nothing has changed on the server (I have double-checked) and Actinic has been working on it for about a year before the upgrade!

Well, I finally got it to work using passive ftp but not without some pauses along the way. This version seems less reliable on updating the web site than the previous one!
