it is a webserver requirement that an index.html file appears (or other default document)

this is so that an initial document can be displayed. if not, your webserver will display a folder listing, or a denied message, like yours.

in actinic there should only be a single html file outside the acatalog (or the 'ocd' folder in your case). 'index.html'. Your ocd folder, contains your shop. It has its own index.html, since its browsable. So, you have two index.html's. Any pages you create as brochure pages, are actually created in your catalog folder, and not in the root.

Hope that clears up some issues.

Hi, I have renamed the index and refreshed and uploaded the website, I'm still having the same problem.
        http://www.officedesksandchairs.co.uk/odc/index.html
the above works OK but if you click home the index.html is missing, checking the site with dreamweaver the shop directory is OK but the index.html file is missing.

I think because on the first ever upload I said NO to replace home page it wont upload it. There must be an option to ensure it uploads but I can't find it. Cheers

Hi, If I create a index.html myself then I loose the functionality of the Actinic Homepage, which I wont to avoid. Can you give more info about Actinic Controls

I am talking about the link in the design, that is all, I would always advise using actinic to create your home page.

Problem sorted, changing the index.html to another name is fine but you must change content on the page for it to be uploaded. If you just change the name and upload the file isn't included in the upload, make a simple change to the content of the page and your good to go. Thanks

It's really quite simple from this corner, although I may be biased of course. If you know nothing, then do exactly as you are advised. If you know it all or refuse to take on board what people say, then don't ask for help or advice and save time for all parties involved.

How did you do the website refresh, run me through the steps that you took? We can get to the bottom of why it did not work for you or indeed how you didn't do as suggested.
