We are also experiencing this frustrating problem where actinic closes during snapshots, about a minute in. On looking at the file created it is empty.

    Site 1 folder with support.

I would be very keen to take a look at your snapshots personally. If you have already sent one into support I can grab it from them, alternatively just mail me via the community.

        Thanks,

Hi Ben - have just seen this thread - please do have a look at our snap shot that is with support - we are still having the same problems.

Panagiotis, I believe this will be fixed in v9.0.4. Would you like to go on the private beta test? It should start in the next few days.

We're now experiencing the 0mb snapshot problem and actinic simply 'quits' during snapshot export.

I appreciate that I can copy the site folder for safety but this is not a practical solution, as we move the site around different pc's at different locations, importing/exporting snapshots as we go.

Is it fairly safe to run a 'live' site on a beta version such as v904?
            Has anyone done it successfully?
            What risks are we taking?

            Thanks

              Hi Peter,

Sorry if you have answered this elsewhere, but have you downloaded the v9.0.4 beta 2 and is this fixing the issue?

I dont have a spare pc, which is why I wanted to know if I'm fairly safe to run a 'live' site on v904 beta?

The new work around is described below –

Go to the design menu – Library

Then in the layouts list scroll down to “Products” and double click

Look for “Standard Layout Using CSS Extra Images Below Main Image” and double click

Scroll down to line 25 where it says “extra image layout” in pink

Right click this and select Edit appearance

Next to where it says “Condition” it says true, change this to false.

Once you have created the snapshot go back and change this to true.
Are you using extra images, if so try this workaround, it may just help, better than possibly trashing with a beta version

                    Personally i wouldn't run a live shop on a beta 904.

I'd live with zipping site1 for a few weeks, then when 904 is released and stable upgrade

                      Thanks Darron & Jo.

I'll try the image work around but i'm kind of nervous without a snapshot, so it could just be a case of zipping up the site file and keep my fingers crossed that v904 arrives sooner rather than later.

If the workaround 'works' you will have a snapshot, just won't include any multi images, not the best solution but better than nothing.....just!

Chris from support promised it would be fixed in 9.0.4 but we'll have to wait and see

                          Unfortunately I havent got this bit listed under 'Products';
“Standard Layout Using CSS Extra Images Below Main Image”

                              0KB snapshot bug!

My site just started showing this bug too (producing 0KB snapshots or quitting and crashing 1 minute into a site backup).

This compounds an ongoing issue with crashing. I don't mind the fact that it regular crashes during a session - I can just restart. The real problem is that
I often get a complete crash if the databases haven't compacted properly.

The only way I can get out of this is to uninstall my current Actinic and re-install - time-consuming and risky! I've had on ongoing support query on this for ages now which doesn't seem to show any chance of being resolved - I'm not sure I would take the risk of moving to 9.0.4 if these issues aren't resolve!
