General Script Error Occured When Adding to Basket

Ok... this is going to sound really strange but I have fixed the problem.

The network settings completed successfully when changing the FTP host from the IP address to the hostname of the server (I originally used the IP because I was waiting for DNS to propagate).

I find this really, really strange!

I've updated the site since and the "General Script Error" is now resolved!

Thanks for your help but I still have no idea why this fixed it!

how often have I wasted 36 hours because of my impatience with DNS propogation???


the answer is lots

Even after all these years, I still get impatient with DNS.

catalog url and cgi url still require dns to have resolved. If you only used the IP on hostname this will account for the problem.

Alot of hosts now have instant aliases that allow you to upload prior to dns resolution.
