    Hey,

    Thanks for all your advice.

I have checked the stock monitoring and we have it ticked for every size of the main product and every size of the accessories. For each size of the main products and the accessories we put a minimum quantity and a maximum quntity that can be ordered in the details tab. We then also put the number we have in stock in the "estimated stock in hand" in the stock tab of each size.

Can I ask if it turns out to be a database corruption is there a known way of recovering the data or do we have to enter/set up everything again from scratch?

    Thanks

so you are confirming that the MAIN products themselves do have stock monitoring switched off?

Yes the Main product does not have stock monitiring ticked. The stock monitoring is ticked at each size level.

This is the same set-up we had on 9.0.4 and it worked with no problems. We have only started experiencing these problems since we upgraded to 9.0.5

        Thanks

Have you tried compacting the database then doing a site refresh?

This combination often sorts out strange database related errors

            Hi Andy,

Good idea. But yes, we have compacted the database and also used Access directly to compact and repair the database. Didn't make any difference - the problem still occurs.

Thanks for the suggestion. All contributions are very much appreciated.

Can anyone tell me which .html or .cat or .pl or whatever the current stock level for an product is held in up at the server. I realise it must be statically held somewhere but don't know where.

            Thanks,

            Laura

I am not an expert in these matters but I suspect the stock level figure is not held on the server but is generated on the fly into the HTML pages as they are created when you do an upload.

The 'Stock in Hand' variable is not uploaded to the website at all, unless you include <actinic:variable name="StockLevel" /> in your product layout pages.

While the 'stock on hand' figure may not be uploaded, the 'max qty orderable' presumably is?

Yes, 'max quantity orderable' is stored for each product in the .cat files.

We seem to have found a file called th.js which used to be generated every time we published the site. This file contains the maximum orderable stock quantity for all our items. We don't know if this is standard Actinic file or one specially created by our designer.

If this is standard Actinic could someone please advise how to get the routine running again that generates this file when required.

Thanks again for all the feedback and suggestions.

Many thanks to all who have offered suggestions and advice on this issue.

We have now identified the problem and rectifed it. It was a piece of code that existed before the upgrade but somehow got eliminated after that.

We will need to find out the root cause, of course, to prevent it happening again, but for now I am just sooooo happy that it is fixed and the site is operating again.

Thanks again to all those who contributed and assisted in narrowing down the cause.
