Is there a conclusion to this problem?
I have a customer using Actinic Business v9 and they are getting.

Error returned from SMTP server (4: <>: missing or malformed local part )
Their error log is also full of

Program = MailForm, Program version = 22783 , HTTP Server = Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS) , Return code = 999 , Date and Time = 2011/06/21 00:13, Internal Errors = Error returned from SMTP server (4: <>: missing or malformed local part
I've checked Business setting in Actinic and also the Setup table using MS Access and both are fine with no erroneous characters or anything.

I've Purged and Refreshed website and restored all perl files from originals but still I get the message.

If I use an email client I can send and receive without any problems so it's something to do with Actinic but what? , That is the question I could do with some answers for.

Anyone got a solution or suggestion on how i can get this working please?

Your best bet is to contact Actinic support as although there is a solution posted here http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?p=297548 it might not be the applicable in your case.

PS1. If you do find a solution. Please post back to help others.

PS2. No-one has said what version of Actinic they're using. If this is a result of a bug it's always worth checking you're using the latest release.

Thank you for the quick response.

I only searched for the error message so I missed that thread.

I can confirm that the fix mentioned in the post DID work and emails are now being sent correctly.

Thank you for your help, it is very much appreciated.
