An unnamed file has a bad format | Moving Sections

    Here's a strange one.

This snapshot was operating fine last week and other operations seem to go through without issue.

However, if I try and move a TLS up the content tree (drag & drop with mouse) I get this error pop up:

An unnamed file has a bad format
This happens if I use the "shift" key, when dropping onto another TLS and without the shift key, when I drop it in to the catalog index page.

On pressing "OK" the pop window disappears, as does the section I was trying to move.

I recovered the database and tried several times, compacting the database between tries, but it didn't seem to make any difference.

A forum search for the error produced no results.

    Have you seen this before?

    Many thanks,

    Rich

P.S. I hope you had a great Christmas and New Year

Okay, I'll do some more investigation, because I can move other sections around so it may be specifically this one.

I'll have a look for any differences.

You probably have a corrupt database record - I would suggest if possible that you recreate the section (you can probably then drag any subsections into it), only other thing I can think of is that the section references a file that doesn't exist (maybe in one of the user defined variables)

Cheers Jan, I'll try recreating the section. In the mean time I moved all the other sections around it, so I could upload.

I'll let you know how I get on.

We're now experiencing exactly the same problem

Do you have an update on this Rich?

Do you have an update on this? Is there anyway to get the section back?

I just had this happen to me, lost a days work as I backup at the end of everyday, lost over 500 products and hours and hours of work and I'm *insert worst possible word you know here* livid to say the least.

Actinic is a diabolical piece of software.

Today I had exactly the same problem (Business Plus v10).

Having gone around the loop (restore, make changes etc) many times it seems that when I try and move at least three heavy sections, the same error crops up and the section disappears. Recreating the sections is not an easy option.

I am still waiting for tech support to call me back (they promised to do so over one hour ago!).

It would be helpful if Actinic could maintain a log or at least display the name of the file in which the error arose.

Has anyone else progressed with this fault?
