    Deleting Unused Images?

    Hi

One of my customers sells products that are unique and once sold he deletes the product, then purges content. Obviously the image files used by that product are not removed, so he then deletes them from the images sub-folders in Site1.

The problem is that he is then getting FTP errors on upload naming the deleted image files (for which the products no longer exist, and which should therefore not be referenced).

Is it possible that this is because he needs to do an upload after deleting/purging the sold products, but before deleting the associated image files, to give Actinic a chance to reconcile the database?

If not, then what should he do?

Sounds like he should do a purge and then a database compact and it will go away to me, after he's done that, then delete the files. Another way is to snapshot the site, delete all images in the image folder and then import the snapshot you just made, it's a quick purge that keeps everything being used only. Just backup before you do it, just in case.

Thanks, I'll get him to try the compact before delete approach first.
