    You don't feel that anyone has helped you?

    I can see plenty of posts in this thread where people have advised you.
    All I said was that I'm not sure what more you expect.

      Hi there

      I am on other forums where people are very helpful and will actually do things for you. In fact in one forum I had a person do something for me and he ended up getting money for doing a lot of others things as I was impressed by his first act of kindness. So sometimes people helping people does work out and leads to other things that benefits all involved.

      I have thanked the people on this forum/thread for their advice and I done it in my very first post.

      So thank you once again.

        [quote]Not sure it warrants the £80 price tag that's £50 for the plug-in and £30 for the install and then the vat that's a heavy price to pay for a next button don't you think? Unless I can get some experienced kind person in here to install it for me that would help LOL.[\quote] plugins are worth what other people will pay for them, and of course their authors write them in the hope they will make sufficient sales to pay them for their time. Don't forget you want to use them in an environment where you too will make money. So the world goes round.

        I don't think you will get anyone to install it for free. If it were my plugin and I was aware someone else was offering a free install I'd be pretty annoyed.

          Hi there Pinbrook

          So if I was a programmer and could install it myself thats ok then.Not everybody who buys this software is a programmer and sometimes we need more help that just advice. If you look at my post it was not like I asked did anybody have a copy they had already paid for and I wanted them to install it for free as well as give me the plug-in.

          Sorry I asked, but in most other forums that I am a member of people are happy to offer more than just free advice and while it is helpful so far it feels like I have asked for somebody to hack this plug-in which is not what I said and if you note my words which were "Unless I can get some experienced kind person in here to install it for me that would help LOL."
          I was looking for an experienced kind person and so far seems all I am getting is a little bit of attitude and note that I also said it tongue in check with the LOL at the end of the sentance.

          So can we please drop it now I get it nobody in here wants to offer anything but free advice which I will appriciate when given. Enough said!

            I wasn't inferring you were being cheeky, more explaining why no one would come forward.

            There is a difference between commercial software and open source for example. We aren't all totally mercenary here, often people do help out beyond simple free advise and get their hands dirty for no reason other than altruism.

            I just felt it unfair to codepath to ask someone to install their plugin for free - even with the LOL

              Hi there

              I know I think I am just frustrated at this software as I am still getting to know it and just want to get it sorted.

              Thanks for you comments.

                Hi there

                Forgive me for asking but, in this previous and next section that is referred to below can you say Next after showing 5 products how is it determined. Forgive the thickness here but as you all know this is still a steep learning curve to me.

                And are all categories considered as a section? Told you I was thick LOL

                There is a manual process for doing it which you can find on page 36 of the Version 9 Advanced Users Guide in a section called "Splitting a Section into Multiple Pages: Creating Links to 'Previous' and 'Next' Sections"

                  Create a parent section and some child sections and then populate the child sections them with say 5 products each. You can then jump from child section to child section by using the described prev/next links. You can see a (modified) version here: http://bit.ly/9aE87a

                    Hi drounding

                    Thank you for that but as I already have categories set up that already have products in the categories can I just move the products that I have added to the categories to the sections you have just mentioned?

                      You can move products around as you wish - it's purely the structure that's important.

                      You need something like this:

                      Section 1
                      --Section 1a --> products
                      --Section 1b --> products
                      --Section 1c --> products

                        To delete a product you highlight it in the left menu and press the delete key. This will put a red cross over the product showing that it has been deleted but can be undeleted. To delete it forever go to the housekeeping menu and purge content.

                        For pages with a certain amount of products per page i find it easy enough to just create subsections including the required amount then use the example in the AUG to create next and previous links.

                        One of my first posts on the forum was along the same lines as yours, but like others have said, it becomes a lot easier with time and practise.

                              products per page

                              Hi there

                              Would you believe it has taken me all this time to sort out products per page The site now has 9 pages with 5 products per page a lot better than a big long page

                              Now here is my problem when you click on the Category say Females Fancy Dress it now shows you a page saying

                              Females Fancy Dress 1
                              Females Fancy Dress 2
                              Females Fancy Dress 3

                              Well you get the picture so how can I change that so when you click on the category Female Fancy Dress it is not saying Females Fancy Dress 1 2, 3 and so on.? It nows says Female Fancy Dress Page 1 then Page two at thhe bottom of the page and now lets you go back and forth no problems my problem now is when you click on the category it's showing you nine links if you get my drift

                                Put the products for page 1 in the main section and then have a subsection for each subsequent page. i.e. the main section becomes page 1.
