OK, can you repost the network settings as they are now, Simon?

And can you double-check your new FTP username and password are both as they should be?

    Cheers

OK Simon, that looks correct as far as I can see... I'm having a good old think here...

In the meantime I've also found this thread in the archive... can you take a look and tell me if your error message is similar... note, the user was also with 123

Have a look at post #19 from the following thread:

            http://community.sellerdeck.com/show...t=42958&page=2

According to that the permissions on the 'Public' folder should be 711 for 123-reg users

I'm not sure what's meant by the 'Public' folder, but I'd hazard a guess it means public_html

In which case, try changing the permissions on your new 'shop' folder to 711 within Control Panel

By the way, are you the same Simon Dunn?

              lol yes, the very same,
i had the same problems last time years ago.
now im back in the same place.
Ive done all that too, changing the Public folder to 711 and still had the same problems.
Leehack took a copy of my website and ran it from his end, an in 5 minutes he sent it back to me working and no error messages.
ive spent a week going into all the threads and changing settings as advised, even the changes lee made for me, but nothing works and allot of the threads give suddestions but none seem to come back and tell everyone whet the problem was and how they fixed it lol

ive just tried from the other thread you gave too but still the same
i will change the permissions on the shop folder now to see if it makes a difference.

I would change the permissions on the public_html folder back to what they were in the first place if I were you, Simon

From my understanding it is the root folder of your Actinic shop that 123-reg want you to change the permissions on... in your case it would be your newly created 'shop' folder

However, I may of course be wrong on that

just done that and still nothing.

Ive just done a send files, and sends fils to the 2 folders, cgi-bin and acatalog, but errors on reading the cgi scrips etc and at the end of the upload has that same error about how the permissions should be but have changed them to how they should be.

this is the same problem as before and just dont know what to do next.

Ive opened a ticked again with 123reg to see if its something there side.
It must be something to do with the host......??

i cant beleive im still having the same problem as years ago, i would have thought this would not happen any more.
im totaly stuck in the mud with this....

You have 123 reg doing a redirect on your domain to show their own page.

You need to get this removed as one of the first things Actinic does after uploading is to try and access the site via http as a test.

The 123 redirect makes this test fail.

                          Just an update guys.
123reg have got back to me and said that sweettreats.es was not set up there side to point fo my hosting site.
they have very promtly fixed this problem to now point to my platform.
I have to wait 24 to 48 hours for this to tAke efect.
i will wait for it to become visable then will try a new upload to the site.
with the correct permissions in place.

i will let you know how it gose.
if it works i will post my findings so it may help others having the same problems.
thanks to both of you for your help. both were a great help.

                            Nothing takes 24 - 48 hours anymore.

                            Your site is now visible.

                              ok guys,
yes mike your right is is there now.
so i have now I have checked all the permissions and they are as follows:
                              Public folder 711
                              /Shop folder 755
                              Index.html 755
                              /acatalog folder 777
                              /cgi-bin folder 755

now just did a test (Same results with same cgi scrips errors)
just tried to run the config wizard, same error with the (http request error message) after the directory section.

when i run the publish to web, i get the same Cgi scrips error message and then when i cancel that and it finishes uploading photos and base files it comes up with the permissions error....

                              Any ideas whats wrong?

Simon, you don't appear to have followed my advice in post #35 to set permissions on the 'shop' folder to 711?

And to reset permissions on public_html to what they were originally before you altered them? (in other words, the 123-reg default)

Please note that the 711 permissions are not my idea - I don't even know if they'll work - I'm only suggesting it because you had this working several years ago and 123-reg advocated it at the time.
