    invalid page fault

    Hello folks,

    I have just upgraded from V6.1.3 to 6.1.5 and now get the following error message when I try to open Business Settings, Locations etc:

    Cannot open the Shipping and handling database. Make sure that
    "ActinicSimpleShipping6" is set up as a valid ODBC source.

    If I try to access Template Manager I get the above message, with the added bonus of the following Invalid Page Fault, closely followed by the closure of Catalog!

    I found an old thread with a similar problem and followed the suggested fixes below, but to no avail:

    ACTSHIPHAND.OCX is a file which deals with shipping. Hmm, one suggestion would be to 1st close down Actinic, go your site1 folder, go to shipcontrol folder, and rename the SimpleShipping.mdb to backup.mdb

    Once you have done this, simply go to the
    C:\Program Files\Actinic Ecommerce v6\Original\ShipControl\ folder, copy and paste this Simpleshipping.mdb to your \Site1\Shipcontrol\

    If this works then the fault, seems to lie in the simpleshipping database



    and:



    Within Windows Control Panel, click on ODBC data source, and add in a key for ActinicSimpleShipping6 as defined below:-

    1. Close Actinic Ecommerce.
    2. From the Windows Control Panel, open Data Sources (ODBC)
    3. Click on ADD (within the User DSN tab)
    4. Select Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb) and click OK
    5. Enter ActinicSimpleShipping6 for the Data Source Name (Note: this is case sensitive)
    6. Leave the description <blank>
    7. Under Database, click select and navigate to the database SimpleShipping.mdb which can be found in the folder ShipControl under the appropriate site folder (by default this is site1ShipControl.
    8. Click OK and close all the windows
    9. Restart Actinic Ecommerce. which should now function correctly.


    If anyone can suggest anything else to try I would, as always, be very grateful

    Hi there

    It looks like the shipping data has not been made within the registry. Hence you getting the errors. The only way you can get actinic to write the information into the registry would be to reinstall the software i'm afraid.

    If you remove and reinstall, the error should go.

      Thanks for your help Nadeem. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, and imported snapshot and all seems to be back to normal. I'll give the upgrade a miss for now though.
