What exactly is the problem you are facing ? Is it that you are using merak or simply that the SMTP is not working on the 2003 server? What are the error messages you get? Have you checked the online error log, it si called error.err and is usually found in the acatalog folder on the server. That should give you an idea as to what is the problem.

    Kind regards,

I'm about to go live with Business 8.0.3 and experience the same error as Ryan & Simon when testing Network Setup.

      Actinic Mail Test completed successfully
      server: passed
      connection: passed
      sockets: passed
      communications: failed
      authorisation: failed
message: 501 Error decoding Username parameter.

      My setup:
      Dedicated Host
      Windows 2003 Server
      MailEnable Enterprise server

Mailenable expects a username which includes an @ symbol e.g. username@sitename, could it be that Actinic is failing to send the special character? Only a hunch but I need to sort this out. Any further help greatly appreciated.

      Regards - David

        David,

have you entered the email identity using the username@sitename format?

          Hi Bill,

Yes, username@sitename is entered with the appropriate password. These credentials work when using Outlook as the client, and I receive mail to the account when sent from outside Actinic.

          Regards - David

            Hi David

This needs a support technician to test out your mail server for you. Please register an email support question at http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm and someone will be able to help you out.
