    Hi there

Just got something back from development

    ---------------------------8<----------------------------------
I've just checked the error.err file on the server and found the
    following:

There must be some problem with the disk space or disk quota!
As you can see from the excerpt of log, catalog tries to recover from
backup file, but it is impossible as there is no more space on the disk
and it happens again when the session file couldn't be created and
reported in the log. I suggest, to do a deeper investigation of available
disk space. It is possible, the mentioned 30 MB is not available all the
    time.

Looking at the error message, it does suggest that at times, there is no space left on the webserver.

      Hi Nadeem,

Have your developers made any progress with investigating this problem?

      Thanks,

      Richard

          Mike,

Yes I did miss the last post from Nadeem with the feedback from the developers.

          Nadeem,

Thanks for the info from the developers.

I have had a spring clean on the server to give plenty of disc space and the customer has not reported any errors to date.

I have looked through the errror log and would like to clarify a couple of points.

          a) The following errors were reported:

          Program = ORDERSCR, Program version = 462 , HTTP Server = Apache/1.3.33
          (Unix) (Red-Hat, Return code = 999 , Date and Time =
2005/06/13 20:53, Internal Errors = Recover from backup file
          Program = ORDERSCR, Program version = 462 , HTTP Server = Apache/1.3.33
          (Unix) (Red-Hat, Return code = 999 , Date and Time =
2005/06/13 20:53, Internal Errors = None of *.num file exist

Were these errors due to lack of disc space or some other misconfiguration with the server? Looking at the end of the error log the disc space problem was reported at a different time of 21:23

          b)

2005/06/13 21:15, Internal Errors = The site configuration has been
updated by the shop operator while you are checking out. Please navigate
back to the product pages by pressing the Browser Back button and try
again or contact the site owner.

The vendor has control of updating the catalog and does so on a regular basis. It looks like there is a problem if the vendor updates the site when a site customer is checking out. Is this the case and should ordering be supspended when updates are uploaded?

          Thanks for all your help.

          Richard

Its is possible that due to lack of space, there was no num created by Actinic, therefore reported none of the num file exist.

Sometimes when you update the site, if it is a large update, Actinic changes the structure of the .cat/.fil files, sometimes this can lead to problem with people checking out.
