    Possible bug in v7.04

Hi - I am running Actinic Business v7.04.

I had a set images under the actinic default folder on my PC. For maintenenace reasons I have created a subfolder under actinic and moved them there.

These were also listed under my "Additional Files" tab so I removed them from there and then added them from their new subfolder.

When I try to upload the site I get the error message

Some filenames conflict. All files being sent to the web site must have unique names. Please check the list of files in Advanced | Additional Files.

Some of the following files must be renamed before an upload can occur. Once the files are renamed, reselect them in the Actinic.

    C:\Program Files\Actinic v7\Sites\Enjoy\back_a.gif
    C:\Program Files\Actinic v7\Sites\Enjoy\Images\generic\back_a.gif
I have tried compacting the database and refreshing the website but still get the error message.

The additional files tab and the access table "additional files" only displays the files in the new subfolder.

I cannot see this error listed under v7.05 fixes.

    1. Is this a bug?
    2. Is there a table I can delete them from so that I can reload my site?
    Regards

David, are there many? If not just rename them.

I've been `here` before. Actinic can be a bit odd. You can add a new product with a new image and accidentally with already used image name and it will tell you. If you replace an already used image (name) on your pc it will quietly update it on the site without warning.

    Hope this makes sense.

Hi George - I would rather not have to rename them. There are not that many files but most of them are referenced from quite a few templates. Some are script files referenced from within other script files.

Therefore I would have to change the code in quite a few files to read the new filenames.

        'tis normal!
My biggest problem is that one of my snapshot imports must have been done in haste and all my (older) images are not in a "not catalog" folder. (I used to save product images in my docs.. don't any more though)
This means that if I add a new product or alter an image, using an image that has been changed to the "NOTCATALOG" filepath, I don't necessarily know about it beforehand and end up trying to use or change the original filepath image (with me??)

This results in an older product using the "NOTCATALOG" filepath image, and the new product using the image from the original my documents filepath.

Obviously, Actinic doesn't like this (and it's not just Business, it's catalog too) and I hae to change them
Trouble is, it doesn't indicate WHICH products are harbouring these rogue images and you end up trawling the catalogue to try to find them all (I prefer to use the image in its original location rather than the NOTCATALOG one.

Complete garble, I know...but you probably know what I mean!
Not sure it's a bug..think it's supposed to work that way (but it's a PITA!)

          Hi Tracey - I still think it's a bug.

I have put my files back in the original directory and re-instated the original "Additional Files" links - my site has now loaded up ok.

A reply from someone in Actinic would be appreciated.

            Hi David

            From the original query:

I had a set images under the actinic default folder on my PC. For maintenenace reasons I have created a subfolder under actinic and moved them there.

These were also listed under my "Additional Files" tab so I removed them from there and then added them from their new subfolder.
Its seems you moved the image to a new location, but did you also change the location of the image within the product? If you didn't, then Actinic would still be looking for this image, hence the error message appearing.

            Kind Regards

The error message isn't to do with the files being "moved" as such though, more that the OP has referred to the same fileNAME with 2 different filepaths... so the duplication of a filename (which may or maynot be the same image/file, just in 2 different locations)
Actinic just doesn't allow this. Don't know if it's a "bug" or intentional, but either way, it's a bit of a pain, tbh!

Hi Nadeem/Tracey - I might have confused everbody a little. These images are not product images. They were referenced only in the "Advanced > Additional files" tab.

I deleted the links in the additional files tab. Moved the files to a new subfolder. I then reset up the links again in the "Advanced > Additional files" tab to the files in their new position.
