    Order Number Lock Error

I'm having a disasterous morning....I'm losing loads of orders

When people try to place orders on my site they get the following error message :

Following error has been displayed to a customer: An error occurred while creating the order number lock file (../acatalog/OrderLock.num). The error was Permission denied. Actinic ecommerce can not create a unique order number and can not continue. Please contact us directly with your order.

Anyway, I read the knowledge base about why this happens and I haven't changed any permissions on the server, haven't even logged into my ftp account in weeks.

    Anyone any ideas ?

I have deleted the .num files and then used the troubleshooting to update the order number.

Now people can order fine, but I'm getting an error message when I'm downloading orders.

I have checked permissions and just to make sure I gave full rights on both the cgi_bin and acatalog directory. I have refreshed the website. I have also tested the network settings using the test function in actinic and there are no errors.

      Any ideas ?

        Lyndsey,

Are you still facing the same problem? What are the permissions of the files inside the acatlaog folder? Have you tried doing a purge and refresh? Help | Troubleshooting .

          Hi,

          Yes I'm still having problems.

I asked the hosting people to change all my .ord files owner from www to petbliss.

Now I'm back to the previous error with the .num file

As far as i know the permissions of the files inside the acatalog directory are correct.

How will a purge - refresh help ??

You had a ticket going with support. Has this issue been resolved as yet?

              Yes, finally got it fixed.

Was onto the hosting people and they said that they couldn't do anything else that they had already changed permissions to be correct and then made sure ownership was correct.

Funnily enough, a couple of hours after being onto support I tried again and it worked perfectly....
