Bounce problem - always returning to product page

Hi
A customer rang me to say they were having problems with our online shop.

I have justed tested it - adding a product to the cart and I am finding it misses out a stage. Adding a product to the cart takes you to a page showing the product in the cart and then bounces you back to the product page.

It misses out the stage where it asks if you want to "continue" or go to "checkout".

Could anyone test this for me and offer any solution?

I have tried "Help">Troubleshooting>Purge Session Files. I have also cleared my cache and refreshed my browser.

Isnt the feature you are looking for available when you have quantity confirmation in cart and not on the product pages? I added a "JGJune30/CD" to the cart and had the option to go straight to checkout

I also tried it with this product and it worked okay.

It happened when I tried (and tried again just now) clicking on the January lectures.

Any suggestions?

And also available when you set the bounce delay to 0 = infinity.

What does this mean? I would not know where to look for this.

Is something setup wrong for these products (lectures)?

They did work properly at one time.

For certain products eg. January lectures I'm no longer getting the page which you have "Confirm" and "Continue" Shopping gifs once I have clicked "Add to Cart".

PS Just done a bit more testing.
The main product is in the January section with a duplicate with the lecture under its own name. I get the bounce on the main product in "January" and not on the duplicate under its own name. Any thoughts?

If you set this to '0', then as soon as you add a product to the cart, you will be shown an editable shopping cart.

January lectures has quantity on product page unlike JGJune30/CD which is in the cart - hence the reason it was working that way as post #2 - I see you have now resolved using Bill's solutions and is working fine

Yes it is working great. Thankyou very much indeed! I am so relieved. People had been going round and round in circles adding more and more to the cart.

It is so much better now too going straight to the cart. I'm going to alter the "Continue" gif to "Buy More Lectures" or "Buy More" and it will be even more straight forward for people.
