Updating vs refreshing?

What is the difference between uploading my website and refreshing it please?

And when should I refresh rather than merely uploading?

Updating will load only the files that have changed, refreshing will upload every file again. Updating is much quicker, so generally you should update, but if you have problems you may want to refresh. Click on the green upward pointing arrows on the toolbar will update.

Thanks Jan - that probably explains why I got a server script error when uploading a few days back!

Yes he is Jiji, gorgeous isn't he althouth the forum has made him a little grainy looking.
