I still have no joy & all my settings are the same as the ones you mentioned Paul, i also have unchecked the ssl box & scripts are enabled on the server. Fasthosts say:

Thanks for contacting us with your support enquiry.

Please check your settings by using the link.

You can find the help you need in our knowledge base article "What are the Actinic network configuration settings for Linux?" at:

      http://www.fasthosts.co.uk/knowledge...article_id=225

If this article isn't quite what you're looking for, there is a wealth of comprehensively researched, easy to follow guides in the rest of our knowledge base. Visit http://www.fasthosts.co.uk/support/ and log in with your account username and password.

To contact us again about this issue, simply reply to this email, ensuring the ticket number is in the subject line. For a quick response, please provide us with as much relevant information as possible. Tell us what you want to do, what problem you're facing and how you've tried to solve it. If you've seen any error messages, please copy them into your reply.

Please note that your enquiry may be handled be one of my colleagues next time. They'll have full access to your account details, so will be able to answer any questions you have.

      Thanks again for contacting us.
Read this article they reffered to & some of their settings were differant from those many on here suggested, but i tried them anyway & still no joy, so i went back to the settings you said paul, which we know work & still no joy, then fasthosts said this:

You will need to contact Actinic if you are getting problems running Actinic under Linux and you have followed our articles on this as we cannot help further on this matter.

Scritping is not something we support so please contact the makers for help with this.
I have been in touch with Pinbrook & will today or tomorrow swap hosting to them, as fasthosts have been no help at all really, just cost me phonecalls & long calls at that!

        Jobs a good un!

Sorted.....I left fasthosts & moved to Pinbrook...who have been bloody great, extremly helpful from the word go & every since, their hosting is fast & good quality too, so anybody having fasthost trouble (or with any other hosts) the answer is simple, move to Pnbrook!

For anyone else with this issue (don't know if it bacomes a non-issue with Ver. 8) but I got the Server error until I added a default page to the site.
