Please forgive me if there is already a thread addressing this need - I've done my best to find it.
I have products which come in a large number of sizes and colours (let's consider a solution for a 20 x 20 matrix of options). Sizes are a self-describing attribute, but colours have fancy names so I need to display a colour chart. I can do that by inserting the HTML within !!< >!! in the usual way, but this would required the buyer to correlate the colour name in the table with its name in the dropdown permutations list. It would be slicker and more usable to allow the user to click within the appropriate cell in the colour chart.
There is a neat trick (by Norman Rouxel) in the 'Can I display a table of information within the product description?' thread, which arranges radio buttons in the cells of a small table, but the idea of expanding on it to do what I want is giving me a sore head. Each cell would need a colour swatch as a background image, I guess. Has anyone tried addressing a similar requirement?
