Error on preview page v7

    Gabriel,

    Thanks for your help. I checked with my host, and he doesn't think it could be the hard drive either. If you remember how you sorted your problem out I would be very interested to hear.

      I have carried out all your instructions, and still no better off with the images. Please could you rethink and see if there is anything else I could try. It is very frustrating, and I have waited so long for help.

        "x" & lst line Short Description instead of images & now Error in Extracting Step 5

        Things are getting worse! Not only am I unable to see the images as previously mentioned in the preview page (showing "x" and text from "short Description Line" ,

        but this morning I am getting a message "error Extracting Step 5_active.bmp from C:\Program File\Actinic v7\formats\Navigator Sins\QuckStartGuide\skin.zip."

        Yesterday I followed your instructions for Step 1. Now this is appearing. This is getting a bit worrying. Please could you let me know the next step please. I first contacted Actinic with this error over a week ago via email.

          OK Shirley

          Here's a solution to the 'error Extracting' error. It is unrelated to your preview error.

          Close Actinic.

          Use Windows Explorer to to your C:\Program Files\Actinic v7\Formats\NavigatorSkins\QuickStartGuide\ folder.

          There should be a file within it called 'skin.zip'. Double-click on this file. Hopefully it will open up and show you all the files within it.

          Select all these files and press Ctrl+C to copy them to the clipboard.

          Paste these files directly into your C:\Program Files\Actinic v7\Formats\NavigatorSkins\QuickStartGuide\ folder.

          Delete 'skin.zip'.

          I have attached an image of what your 'QuickStartGuide' folder should now look like.

          Restart Actinic.

          Go to 'View | Quick Start Tutorial' a couple of times to turn the tutorial on and off.

          This should fix it.

          With regards to your previewing error, please generate and offline preview. Then right-click on one of the missing images and select 'Properties'. This should tell you where Internet Explorer is looking for the image, and should explain why it has gone wrong.

            The above are samples of where Actinic is trying to find the images. Obviously something is wrong.

            Met a Computer person this morning, and he said he uses Actinic 6 and he had the same problem until he put the patch on. I have updated all the patches, but still no improvement.

            I am now on v7.0.........GBGA.

            I await your further instructions.

              What values do you have in the 'Image' fields for your products? e,g, what does this value...

              ... look like in the 'Image' field in Actinic.

                Hi Chris,

                It shows a "x" and then the text that is typed in the "Short Description" line.

                I sent Seeths some print screens hopefully a couple of days ago, but no reply.

                  No - I'm not talking about teh preview. I'm talking about the actual Actinic application - the 'Details' panel where you type in your product names and product descriptions. What have you got in the 'Image' field in there?

                    In the "Image Box" the small x" and 1410 Felt Pricking Pad
                    This box outlined so you can see what it is, and the same background colour as the page.

                    Chris, hope this helps. I have tried taking screen print by pressing Prt Scr, but it will not work with Actinic. How do you do it in Actinic please, and I will try and send it to you.

                            He has only ever replied once, and since then I have emailed three times, and no reply. There is obviously a problem with it, that needs sorting out quickly.

                            Is there any one else who could help me, please?

                            This only happened after I had downloaded a patch I believe, could it be something to do with that, please.

                            Also Chris when adding a new item to an order internally, the shipping charge is partly covered. Can this be rectified please.

                              I have just tried to find an item, and discovered that on a duplicate item, where there used to be a link to click back to the original, there is no longer a button to link back.

                              Also the page preview does not change when you go to a different item in a different directory.

                                All your issues require somebody to look at your 'snapshot' to see what is happening. Seeths is going to get in touch with you this afternoon to request a snapshot. In the meantime, please export a snapshot ready to send to him.

                                To do this, go to 'File | Snapshot | Export Site' and follow the steps in the wizard to create a snapshot file.

                                The support team can then take a close look at your data to figure out what has gone wrong.
