Searching product properties

Hello All,

Actinic Developer 7.0.3

I've set up a search by product properties.
View/search settings/searchable properties.

I want customers to be able to search all products for their size.

So i chose my attribute 'size' in the properties dropdown.

The problem is the search results online list my deleted sizes !

I dont want to purge the site as these deleted sizes come in and out of stock, and its easiest to just undelete them.

Whats going on here? Is there a work-around.

I cant believe no-one has encountered this problem except me.
Its definately a bug... an old one at that.. i cant believe its not fixed.

Basically Search results return deleted products....

This Bug was sorted in v7.0.6. Deleted choices are no longer found when you search for them via searchable properties. [AC7-203]

Tried upgrading but search is still returning products with deleted attributes.


I downloaded the approriate patch : v7.0.6 GBGA UK Patch

when i upgraded
I recieved a script changes log from the installation program saying

Differences between old script and user modified script
User changed lines 1 to 7 in original script to lines 1 to 79 in user-modified script.

the original and new version were the same.
So i replaced the new version with the modified one.


I then looked at search settings and noticed that my searchable properties had gone, so i re added them, and refreshed again..

still the deleted attributes are appearing in the searches...

Tried purge and rerfresh of .cat and .fil files, still not working.

If you go to my search by size page
http://www.arka-shop.co.uk/acatalog/search.html
and choose 10mm from the dropdown,
then click on the first returned item BHBP01, you will see it doesnt have 10mm as a choice.

My version of actinic is now 7.0.6 GBGA.

It says at the upgrade page http://www.actinic.co.uk/referrer/changes.htm

Does the phrase '10 mm' appear in the value of the searchable custom property? If it does then that is the reason for it appearing. If it does not exist in that location and you have done a complete refresh of the site,then I would suggest raising a support ticket so that we can further investigate what is wrong with your particular installation. Are you using a CUSTOMVAR that is searchable on that particular product, if you look on the value columen on teh customvar, does it have the phrase 10 mm anywhere?

After the upgrade to 7.0.6 i noticed some other wierdness. My 'seachable properties' entries kept disappearing.
I noticed that the search periodically stopped working, and then noticed that the searchable properties i'd set up had gone. If i re entered them, they disappeared.. Seeing as how the search was still returning deleted products, when it did work.. and i didnt want my customers ordering deleted items, i caved in and reinstalled 7.0.3
I may give it another go by setting it up on a testing site or something.
