YVW I thought that it would be of interest and helpful as security updates automatically updates to IE7.
There is no going back to IE6.

An IE6 compatability tester is available here for all. It requires validation to WGA (Windows Genuine Advantage).

Isn't it a real pain to run both IE6 and IE7 Bill?

I read several pages about how to but also gave me the impression that whilst it was possible it's not recommended.

I'll wait for the v7.0.7 update but it's making life very difficult.

Duncan - this is not one of the pre v7 release hacks. This is a genuine Microsoft tool which allows a designer/developer to ensure their software is still backward compatable with IE6.

I wasn't suggesting Bill it was a hack but questioning running an installed IE7 that has been updated through security patches and updates through the Microsoft website with IE6.

IE6 was overwritten and removed from my system when I last applied the recent updates. I haven't found an IE6 installation standalone.

I had a look at the link and it's 46 Min's download at 1.5Mb for the 456Mb file. I think I'll have to wait until I have time.

Three threads on this issue with a large number of hours wasted finding that there is a problem only after installing IE7.

Time to `sticky` this topic to make people aware that theres a problem with site previewing in IE7?

              Just a thought.

It can only get worse George as more people update their OS and IE7 overwrites IE6.

Serious issue not being taken seriously as I was the original poster of this problem that fell on deaf ears.

I simply went to add/remove programmes and removed IE7 from there, which reverted back to IE6 without any problems. Bit of a hassle finding out why it wouldn't preview though.

Had about five heart attacks thinking my image pathnames were all corrupt.

Looks like a decent upgrade though all the same (IE7).
