maybe split it into 3 different websites? If people are looking for a niche product maybe they think you are too general?
How about setting aside a few days with no distractions, and putting your phone number in big numbers across the top of the page, as both a sales and query number. Then sit back and wait for the calls. The feedback you get may be worth the couple of days you spend on the phone... if people keep phoning up with the same questions you'll know where to conentrate your efforts. if nobody phones up at all then maybe there just isn't a big enough market...
I've not done the above but have had a few customers use the live chat facility on my site and have been surprised at some of the odd things that they think - and with a lot of them if they had not talked to me and had their questions answered then they wouldn't have ordered (and I would not have known why people abandon their carts)...
