Could someone with Vista help me out?

    Hi,

We've had several customers reporting (all supplying that ever-useful "Its not working!" error explanation) that they can't log in to our site under Vista. There's no problem under XP, so I was wondering if people with a Vista installation and IE7 could try logging in for me and reporting what happens.

I've created a test login "test@test.com" with the password "test", and the login page is here.

Thanks for anyone who can help

I don't know about Vista, but running XP and IE7 most of your images on the login page are missing, and the login returns a 404 error - "Object not found!" The "URL" showing with this message is http://community.actinic.com/cgi-bin/bb000001.pl, even if the page is accessed directly through your website's home page (ie outside the Actinic Community) .

Firefox is the same, except the formatting of text is poor.

Our site has gone down a couple of times today, I imagine this is why its not showing correctly (running XP across all browsers works fine at our end)....

          Your baseref is:
          <BASE HREF="http://community.actinic.com/acatalog/">

Been on the forum too long Graham? LOL

Something weird is going on, I don't see that at all:

Images are fine on all our PCs in the office, Firefox, IE6 and 7. We've only had reported errors about Vista, not XP aswell!

If you go in thru the front door root homepage then all ok - except all the cgi links don't work. Try a manual delete and then upload again.

BTW - the safebuy logo's out of date.

It's the BASEHREF on your log in page which is the problem:

                      /cgi-bin/ss000001.pl?SECTIONID=Special_Offers.html

Your home page is fine - the images and login result page are probably missing because the login page's references are trying to find images, results page etc on the Actinic community site.

OK, thanks. I'm guessing this is all related, but just wondering why no-one with XP has had these issues before. Getting dual boot XP / Vista tomorrow so will be able to play around then.

Ok, I can replicate the problem on IE if I clear my cookies and access the site from the link I posted. Doing the same on Firefox works fine.

On both my primary and brochure templates the baseref value is set to www.diskdepot.co.uk/acatalog. It looks like bb000001.pl is getting the domain name of the refering page and using that to overwrite the <base href> value.

Any ideas on how to sort this? Very confused

How about just asking people to go to your website by typing in the address, go to the login page, and test using Vista - ie no link involved.

The URL should be given in broken form ie www. diskdepot. co.uk so that no link is formed in the post

Thats all good but its the invalid BASE HREF value thats causing the Vista problems I'm sure...
