Nick, i have followed those instructions to the letter and can confirm that they work perfectly - must be something you are doing incorrectly. Once you have the final table, make sure you scroll down and that you are not looking at just the top of the table where products have no sales figures.

thanks so much for all you help folks. although i still can't get it to work! i've followed Howard's instructions to the letter, and i'm getting the same results each time - the quantity sold is completely wrong, and bears no relation to the 'value' column. it looks like it's got to be a fault at my end, so i shall persevere.

Delete everything you have done and start again in case you are missing something obvious.
