    Site not working something changed?

We have been using Positive Internet to host our website www.homebits.co.uk for over a year and have never had any problems that is until this weekend. We now seem to be getting a general script error when someone trys to go to the checkout and it appears that the OS000001.pl file is giving us the following message. System Error: Unable to open content directory. No such file or directory.
We have tested our network settings which pass no problem, and done two site refreshes but we still get this message. I show below the settings that work and that we have not changed. All that Positive Internet can say is "It appears to be an issue with the scripts that you have uploaded to our servers. So it is physically at our end, but there doesn't seem to be anything we can usefully do to fix it. It looks like the author of those scripts, or someone who deployed them, may be in a better position to see what's going wrong here". Can anyone help?

when you did a refresh..did you do a "purge and refresh" in the troubleshooting menu?

the shop fails when switching to SSL.

Try taking the site out of SSL mode and refresh, if you can place an order without SSL then that points to the problem being SSL and not the scripts perse.

Thanks for your quick responses. I am currently doing a "purge + refresh" from the troubleshooting menu. If that fails I will take site out of SSL and let you know outcome.

I have managed to get the site to work by turning off SSL so it is not a script error which is a great relief, so it is back to the hosts. Perhaps they are not telling me something?

I thought it was odd that the ca script worked whilst the os one didn't - hence pointing the finger at SSL.

At least you know where the problem is.

              Thanks Jo,

Is there something techy that I should be saying to the hosts that might make them understand the Actinic thing and help them pinpoint the problem?

                James,

Has this been sorted or is it still an issue.

                Kind regards,

                  Bruce,

This issue has still not been resolved but as I am not an expert, I have involved [EDIT] from Peblaco who has been talking to the Actinic help desk on our behalf as the hosts still do not quite understand the inner workings of Actinic. I have asked Louise if she can take up this post on our behalf so that other users may understand/benefit.

I sent network settings to Toby at support. Toby said it could be something changed on the server to do with the symbolic link.

The symbolic link could be the key here.

This problem has now been corrected. The directory DD was missing from the store folder.
