quick update...

PROBLEM NOW SOLVED!!!!
it was basically fasthosts telling me cgi was enabled... when actually... it wasnt.. after disabling and re-enabling it everthing now works.

im growing to hate fasthosts..

The cgi problem is already documented on the forum:

I did initially suffer the cgi-bin / script enabled error, but have now resolved this - apparently it's a standard thing that when setting up a Linux server on Fasthosts you have to disable and then re-enable the scripts before they will work properly! Anyway, did that and got over that hurdle.

You hate fasthosts? Just wait until you try SSL.
