If you've never used Access then I don't suggest you try this method. Rather try exporting the catalog, then use excel to serach and change the paths, afterwards you can import back again to update them.

if you haven't made any changes to Actinic since the import, could you not re-import the snapshot but choose to update the filepaths to the NOT_CATALOG folder that V7 and previous used to create for the images in such a situation?

it's well worth the effort to get your site setup correctly so this does not happen again. With v7 if you do a snapshot and your images are not in the site one folder they will not be backed up. If you loose your hard drive then you loose all your images.

Lots and lots of posts on this whole subject as it was very common back in the good old days. V8 solved the problem so that may be an other option to look at ie upgrade to v9
