problems with catalogbody.html

Hi everyone,

I am using Clean Layout 4 with Quantity on Product Page. No Log in Required. Only 1 brochure page

www.bonnies-gift-shop.com

Base Page Name = home.html
The section that should be named (under the brochure page) catalogbody.html is coming up home.html

Upon previewing entire site via magnifying glass icon, |Enter| in top navigation bar takes me to what should be the catalogbody but in address bar is named home.html

Upon previewing entire site as above, clicking the |Home| button in top navigation bar gives me an error page - catalogbody.html can't be found

Upon going directly to site online - clicking |Enter| brings up error - home.html cannot be found, then upon clicking Back button on browser, it won't let me go back to anything - home.html error page remains. Therefore, I cannot even get to the |Home| as I was able to in preview to see if that link is working properly.

Can anyone help me straighten this out?

Hi Bonnie,

I checked your website. I could not find 'catalogbody.html' in acatalog folder.
What I understood by browsing your website is, the hyperlink given to the Home Page in the Act_Primary.html is incorrect. Please edit the hyperlink in Act_Primary.html for [ Home ] and point it to 'http://www.bonnies-gift-shop.com/acatalog/home.html'.

Thanks for replying. Could you please send more detailed information. I have gone into Advanced|Template manager|Main|Primary and couldn't find the [ Home ] link to change.

I also went into the Site Folder and checked all the Act_Primary htmls and couldn't find anything?

Any additional information would be greatly appreciated

As per your request, did you get my snapshot sent on 07-02-0 via email from bonnies-gift-shop@comcast.net regarding www.bonnies-gift-shop.com? In fact, you should have received 2 emails with snapshot - one would have had the wrong site. The correct one's subject is Urgent - Ignore previous snapshot.

Haven't heard anything and trying to get site going.

The problem all these days was caused by the Wrong Home page URL entered in Actinic.
1. In Actinic, please go to 'Design | Options | Miscellaneous | Home Page Link' and select URL and enter "http://www.bonnies-gift-shop.com/index.html"
2. Apply changes and click OK.
3. Upload the site to web and check the results.

Note: Your home page URL was formerly linked to "http://www.bonnies-gift-shop.com/acatalog/catalogbody.html", which is incorrect. But, it should be "http://www.bonnies-gift-shop.com/index.html".

Please get back to me in case you need any clarification

Nope. Didn't get mail of 07-05-04. OK, still not working.

Changed URL under Design|Options|Miscellaneous to http://www.bonnies-gift-shop/index.html and uploaded site. Base page name is set to: home.html under |Site Defaults|

Now, when I go to www.bonnies-gift-shop.com and click |Enter| it shows page not found and is trying to get to http://www.bonnies-gift-shop/acatalog/home.html

Also, how can I get the catalogbody to point to "catalogbody.html" instead of "home.html"

I am really sorry to be so much trouble, and really do appreciate all your help.

It's working fine for me. I went to http://www.bonnies-gift-shop.com/ clicked Enter and went to http://www.bonnies-gift-shop.com/acatalog/index.html where a valid top level page displayed.

Perhaps a browser or proxy caching problem at your end. Try it from a different computer and see if it's OK there.

This is driving me crazy. Nothing works. Keep getting error - Page cannot be displayed when trying to access www.bonnies-gift-shop.com and clicking the |Enter| link

I have done the following:
---Checked it on another computer
---Refreshed the site
---Did a Clean Disk through Windows
---I have Adware software and have run that
---Shut down my computer completely
---Cleaned files and cache through Internet Explorer - |Tools|Internet Options|

I am going to send you a snapshot via email. I will look you up. I hope that is OK.

Norman is not available for doing support - he does not work for Actinic.

I also have no problems accessing your site. Can I ask you to go to 'Help | Troubleshooting' in Actinic and click 'Purge Session Files'. That will remove any online session files that may have incorrect information that your shopping session.

I Purge Sessions. Strange thing happened.

I have 2 desktop computers and 1 laptop. Both desktops I keep getting error - Page not found when clicking |Enter|

Hadn't tried it on laptop because it wasn't hooked up. Hooked it up and got in fine.

So I started looking very carefully - I know why the 2 desktops won't let me in, but don't know how to correct it. Maybe you do

When clicking on|Enter"| on laptop, here is url that comes up: http://www.bonnies-gift-shop.com/catalog/index.html

However, on the 2 desktops the url comes up:
http://www.bonnies-gift-shop/acatalog/index.html - it is mssing the |.com|

Went into Design|Options|Miscellaneous| and the url under Home Page Link is http://www.bonnies-gift-shop.com/index.html which is correct.

Can you figure this out?

Hopefully when you click the link on your laptop, the URL you go to is http://www.bonnies-gift-shop.com/acatalog/index.html as this should be the value in the 'Catalog URL' field in the 'Advanced | Network Setup' window.

Check all the other fields in this window that none of them are missing the '.com' at the end of your domain name. I don't think they will be though.

I don't know why your desktop PCs aren't working. I'd have put money on the fact that 'Purge Session Files' would have fixed it. All I can suggest doing is removing all cookies from the two desktop PCs and trying again.
