It is one for the wish list

i changed one of my sites once then made the mistake one day of adjusting the network settings and then had to start all over.

I gave up as it bodged all my page ranks and search engine indexed pages.

would love to call it shop if nothing else, it would actually bode better in search engines

    then i can have
    /shop/
    /gallery/
    /forum/

    keep things simple

    Cheers
    Darren

        Thanks

The only way I know of is to proceed as normal up to a full network settings test - including the response mail, and then change the pathing for the shop page in the settings and ignore the warning messages about testing the new settings (anytime you test Actinic will reset the /acatalog/ bits).

Then make any settings changes needed in Design | Options, recheck every hard-coded path you may have created in any template and finally open the actual database and replace any references to /acatalog/ pathing.

          A nightmare to maintain

            Thanks WJ

I have had a tinker with this this morning on my test machine and I have to say, I shall be putting forward an strong argument AGAINST this process to my client.

It appears that further down the road, once you deploy the site to the client with access to update, you have a very high risk of the acatalog being sent up in error (forgetting as time goes by and all that, when testing etc).

Are there any plans to add this into V8+ as a function within the structure I wonder?

            Regards

exactly!! and it takes half a second of inattention to start the upload - and six hour of faffing about to get back to a non-standard, vanity inspired setup.
