    Tempate Design Problems

Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction to someone can?

I have had two templates made one of which is used in Actinic V8.5.1. the other is used for writing pages outside Actinic.

There are features that do not work in the template that is used in Actinic but do work in the other template. I suspect that the template used in Actinic is causing other problems as well (I cannot run Pay Pal Pro and cannot change certain other things for instance). The designer tells me that Actinic is stopping some of the java script working and he cannot do anything about this but I have no confidence in him as he will not even get a copy of Actinic to try and fix the template

    Thanks

    Hi Brian,
Your in a bit of a pickle - there is NO reason for any pages to be outside of actinic.

Hi Brian, risky business getting a site built for Actinic by a guy who does not know the software. Never mind, lets see if we can help you sort it.

Have you got a url for us to view the current errors?

(why have you got a template outside of actinic too??)

      Regards

You only need one template design - if he will not fix it (obviously does not know actinic!) dont pay him.

            Many Thanks Daren

The designer said actinic would be no problem for him (it only took hi 4 months to get this far)

            URL is http://www.alacartebathrooms.co.uk

              Obviously it was!

I dont know what Darren thinks but its obvious to me looking at the source code that it has been built incorrectly and to try and fix it would be a bit of a job. IMO you should get it rebuilt from scratch by a designer who knows Actinic.

                Hi Brian, no problem mate.

I take it the design your own feature is one issue area? What is it supposed to do?

I have to say the site a bit 'clunky' and labours on a few areas...

you viewed this page in FF yet? Products pushed down the page and out of line. Rebuild is the best bet IMHO.

                Regards

Could not agree more Malc. Some basic errors making the site function badly amd would be more cost effective to start again.

Its got two head and body areas also , i'm surprised it works at all, plus it is loaded with internal CSS. That's a real mess to be honest, i'm not sure what to suggest.

                      RIGHT CLICK DELETE??

TBF Brian, retaining the theme in its current state will be costly to correct. Get in touch with your designer and ask him WTF he is doing to sort it and let us know.

                            Another classic Gabriel.

Does this work with pool balls?

I would not even atempt it TBH - you will never be able to say for sure that you have gotten rid of all the errors. Import into new site - new theme - start again in DW
