Ok Louise, I will give it a try. I am in Mexico right now and will return in 6 hours to give it as try at home. Every computer I get on has IE7. I will stop at one of these internet caffe's here and see what they got. Maybe it is an older version.

    Thanks!!!
    Thanks!!

i see what you mean Louise.

Here at a computer with IE6. Here is a snapshot.

The overall page seems lower that the otherbrowers and the main content is all the way on the left of the screen under the left navbar...

Hi Bob. The problems here are two fold:
        1) The main content is going behind the left navbar because the menu is not actually within the left column. The menu uses CSS to position it a certain number of pixels from the top of the page and a certain number of pixels left of the center of the page. If it was within the left column then your main content would be even further down the page under the menu.
        2) The main content is wrapping under the left column in IE6 must be to do with a width setting on your checkout pages. Try checking your Settings under Site Options and Width for main area.

There really isen't anything i could do regarding the menu positioning. i am hoping that correcting point 2 will solve this issue.

I will try editing the .CSS contemporary_right_column_width to 700 pixels and see what that looks like. Right now the contemporary_right_column_width is 574 pix in the .CSS and the contemporart_body_content in the .CSS is 762 pix. Does Actinic in the Site options width for main area (set for 700 pix) over ride the .css contemporary_body_content??

Just trying to understand the priorities between Actinic and the .CSS adjustments.
            Thanks!!

Now i understand how the actinic layout gets dropped into the .CSS layout settings. \/
              Thanks!!

                OK.

                Louise,

In Site options, width for main area is 650 Pix. The contemporary_right_column in the .CSS is 670 Pix. So it should be ok. I will test it out tomorrow from Mexico.

                Thanks,

                Regards,
                Thanks!!

I thinK I screwed something else up. The background again in FF & Opera.. Only on the home page. Catalog files and all other pages are fine. All works well at home in all my browers except i do not have IE6. Here, everything acts different.
                  Thanks!!

The checkout width looks shorter it might fit, check IE6. You've lost the background. Re-apply the fix from the other post.

The menu goes outside the background on View Basket page but no menu on the checkout. Have you applied a different layout to checkout?.

When I look at your site pages and the checkout pages in IE6 they would appear to be correct now.

When I look at it in FF2 there is no background on the home page. On the home page and other pages the left hand menu boxes now have a small gap between them.

I have no doubt you are aware of this, I'm just confirming what you already know.

And before you say it, yes I agree, these things just add to the fun of website creation!!

                      Regards

                      Chris

Well, According to firebug, the <div style="clear: both;"></div> is at the bottom as you instructed. I did not change anything with that. All i did was add the cc gif in. it works fine at home in all my browsers, just not here. it is driving me nutz.
                        Thanks!!

                          Hi Louise!!

Yes, I removed the menu from the checkoutpages with the code you gave me to remove the best sellers from the checkout pages on the other post, and snapshotted. I dont think you need it in checkout process. I have checked the cart and checkout in IE6 and it looks good!!. The only thing is the homepage in FF&Opera. I did not play with the code as far as the <div style="clear: both;"></div> goes. But when looking at in Firebug, in inspect mode, depends on what is inspected, the code changes.

For Ex. I inspect <div class="contemporary_right_column"> and choose edit, scrool down and this <div style="clear: both;"></div> code is different from <div class="contemporary_right_column">. I am not sure if this is supposed to be like that.
The spaces in the menu dont bother me Chris, Thanks for advising. i have other headaches to worry about now.

                          Thanks again!
                          Thanks!!

OK, Ill give that a looking over again.

FYI, When highlighting the <div class="contemporary_body_content"> on the home page, nothing shades out. When highlighting it in the catalog pages it shades out in firebug. See attached.

I am trying to correct it using firebug, but it doesen't bring the BG down.
