Can you just definitively confirm exactly WHERE you are making the changes in the stylesheet?
Not where in the stylesheet (ie. at the bottom etc)...but where you are calling the stylesheet up and making the changes

this server is a nighmare, getting booted all the time...arghhhh

Anyway I was editing the stylesheet in the bottom sectin of the design tab window, adding the new styles to the bottom of the actual stylesheet. These chages were viewabale in preview but werent uploaded so I then accessed and edited the stylesheet via Design|Libary etc, still the style sheet wasnt uploaded...thats way I resorted to doing it manually via ftp.

This is the place to edit it. Did you hit apply and then OK when adding the text in the bottom code pane?

May be worth removing the actinic.css from the SiteHTML folder and forcing a refresh of the stylesheet.

          Hi Jont

I'm pretty sure I did but will give removing the style sheet a go...how do you force a refresh? Is that a silly question

It will refresh itself as it is missing. The file will be generated from scratch as it can not be found.

I have had issues with the preview stylesheet "locking" but never the main stylesheet.

This gets stranger by the minute....I deleted the actinic.css file from the SiteHTML folder then made a font size change to the stylesheet accessing it via Design|Libary etc, hit refresh and checked the actinic.css in the SiteHTML again and none of my newly added classes are there nor the font size changes BUT when I check the actinic.css file in the PreviewHTML folder it has all my new classes etc

Looking at the site you have 4 stylesheets attached including "theme.css" twice. Are you sure you are editing the correct version from inside of Actinic on the design tab?

There may also be another style further down the cascade causing the issues you are still experiencing.
