Variables - to display or not display, that is the question!

Been struggling with this and have scoured the Help section within Actinic V8. I have created some new Variables which I have added to my existing Content Page.

However, these new Variables seem to display (or not display) according to when they feel like it and not when I want them to!

How do I control this?

Variables don't have feelings or know about your wants. They should follow deterministic rules. Note that one is the "Use Parent" setting so a variable may take on values from higher in the Content tree.

Much more likely that either you're doing something wrong or that you're on a older buggy V8 release and not the latest version. It could be bugs. There's definitely one where setting a variable to be used at the Choices level leads to uncertain behaviour.

You say they display or don't display. This is rather weird. Try putting something around the variable e.g. START MyVariable END. If you don't see the START and END then you're using the wrong layout at that point. Or have BlockIf disabling that code.

All these are guesses as without any proper details it will be hard to know what to suggest.
