    Changing an existing site theme

I currently have my own Actinic site, and now want to update my brother www.oakis.co.uk V8 site theme to a more user friendly version.

However his current site will not be easy to change over by just using the design/change/theme, due to the way it been created, and I think it would be easier to start all over again from scratch (I have also double checked setting / layout / themes were all correct).

So is it possible for me to create a new theme for his site, and add the brochure pages etc, and then just import his product listing into it?

If you have Dreamweaver you can use the Actinic Plug-in to create the site design for you. Otherwise simply select a theme that is closest in style to what you want and then you can edit the outer layout and actinic.css with your own code to build up around the Actinic gumph.

If you do File / Export, you end up with a Hierarchical file containing just the Brochure, Sections and Products. No Design elements at all.

You could import this into a clean new site.

Remember that images (Fragment, Product and Section) (and folders containing images) would need to be copied into the new site in the same relative locations as the old for the import to work.
