I've got a meeting with the developers later today - I'll find out whether it's possible to release the PSPSetup.exe file (with the PayPal Pro changes) ahead of the main release.

OK - it looks like this isn't going to be possible - but we have managed to fix all the remaining issues with 8.5.2 now, so we are just doing a quick sanity check, but the beta version should be out on Monday.

          Great! Thanks Chris.
Will you 'post' to confirm its availability?
As a new user... Is there an 'Idiot's Guide' to upgrading somewhere?

          Cheers,

Ref: AMEX issues, it may be that the PayPal VT for UK does not actually accept Amex... Below is a response from PayPal a couple of weeks ago:

I am aware of this issue and it has been highlighted to the relevant department.

I do apologise for the confusion of this but as per the previous email,
AMEX can not be processed via VT.

Thanks again for contacting us, and thank you for being part of the
            PayPal community.

            Sincerely,

              Hi

I'll be posting on this forum when the update is available. There is also a guide to upgrading in the v8 'Upgrading' forum. Upgrading minor releases is simple. What I always do is:

              1) Snapshot all your current sites
              2) Download the full version (rather than the patch) - that way you get all the latest help updates.
              3) Install the full version over the top of your current installation. Next time you start Actinic it will upgrade your site data to work with the latest version.

One note; If you've changed any layouts, and Actinic has got an updated version of the layout, you might be asked whether you want to use Actinic's updated layout, or heep yours. I just tend to select the middle option on the window - which is to just to add any updated layouts into the library without overwriting your current ones.

Waiting patiently for the release of 8.52.... is there any news yet regarding its release? I was expecting it to be released on Monday.

I've had to revert back to standard PayPal and am losing sales as a result!

Thanks for your patience. The PHP problem that we had an issue with has been resolved, and we expect a release either tomorrow or Friday.

Sorry - haven't you seen the beta announcement in the v8 general forum yet? The beta of the version with the PayPal Pro fix is now out. You can try it for yourself if you like - or wait until it has completed the beta testing program.

I have two sites waiting to go live with Paypal Pro.
Any idea when the new release will be yet?

Is it worth publishing the sites with the Beta and using the last stable version, (sic), on the client's PCs.
I am using 'Client' licences for the clients.

You shouldn't really put sites live with beta software - just in case we do find there's a problem with it. My suggestion would be to put the sites live with 8.5.1 (with the manual fix to the perl to fix the shipping issue) and then upgrade when the time comes - which won't be that far away.

Sorry Chris, I have searched the forum for the manual fix you refer to but can't find it.
Could you please point me in the right direction?

Just upgraded to 8.52 and tested everything with PayPal Pro. The address details are now passed across and everything seems to be working now. The address verification are all done etc.

Only problem is when people pay by PayPal Express Checkout. I just tested this out and I don't get the persons telephone number filled out in Actinic. This is one thing which 8.52 hasn't fixed - any ideas how to solve this?
