    agreed.
If it's not possible (as Chris implies) then we need to hear that definitively so we know that the best we can hope for is an email equivelent to what we had before...with NO details rather than empty details.

I think people are making too much fuss about having the full order details in the payment confirmation.
There's no need (whether other carts/psps do or not)
A simple "your payment for X company for Y amount has been processed" is sufficient, alongside an Actinic email.
Just remove the empty headers and we can all go on as we were before

    JMO anyway

Absolutely, it can't be too hard for PROTX to have a flag to select which email is sent, UNLESS actinic is the only bugger with this problem, in which case, actinic need to do something as PROTX can't be held responsible for the shortcomings.

Agreed - there is no real need for it IMO. As for payment options Actinic is the best in the business for the number of PSPs etc that it will work with - many others only offer a couple at best.

PSPs are a bit like hosting IMO for most people a particular one works ok but there are the odd sites it does not - with the large range of options available its a simple matter to change to one of the others either perminantly or as a stop gap until Protx/Actinic sort things out. eg Ive just spoken to someone today about Protx and because he is using a merchant account with Barclays he is able to switch to EPDQ quite easily.

                Hi,

Sure, I totally agree - this is not a blame game, that's not at all fair and is the enemy of progress! The issue is simply that at present, this is not a field/value that Actinic software is capable of passing - that doesnt mean it's their fault in any way, that is just the fact of the matter. The basket content field is, as stated in our protocol - optional. We don't expect nor force anyone to pass this value and it has always been optional.

The main point I want to put accross here is that we are moving forwards in our relationship with carts and also the resources to allow us to do this. We don't really consider anyone to be small fry. Actinic as with all of the other carts are really important to us and the relationship hopefully works both ways.

Logging off now, it's far too late on a Friday

                Cheers

Oh and just before I dissapear into the night - I'd like to make it clear that we DO plan to get rid of the 'Blank' basket content display in the confirmation emails. That is absolutely, categorically nothing to do with Actinic - that's one for us lot and we are working on getting rid of that!

                  Cheers

Joe, as the initiator of this thread I'd like to thank you for all your input - and that of others. We don't want or need to play the blame game here. However, several things seem clear - I think :
                    • Protx changed things with little or no communication with Actinic
                    • No or inadequate integration testing was done before going live
                    • Actinic became aware of the problem some while ago but did nothing
                    • Protx have now held their hand up to the blank basket header issue
                    • The faulty integration continues

And all of this on a live "trust us we're the best" e-commerce system!
We are a new start up. We went with Actinic then chose Protx from the Actinic website and then set up our business banking with Nat West / Streamline to work with Protx.

IMO we really do need the populated order contents in the "financial confirmation" e-mail as that's the one most customers always print. We are delivering shopping to holiday homes and have found that customers only discover the empty order list when they come to check their delivery - usualy a long way from home - and we get calls saying "did I order ....?)

We can't be the only ones in this situation can we??

                    Have a good weekend.

In the mean time actinic people, is there any way to just switch off the protx confirmation?

                      Here's a little hint from protx -
If your cart does not send the 'CustomerEmail' value, then we won't be sending a confirmation email to your customer - as they are optional.
Is there a little flag in a config file somewhere that we can just turn off?

                        Hi all,

I just had a Protx payment email notification and it is DIFFERENT!!

There is no longer any empty basket. Instead it says "Your customer bought: Items from [your shop name]". Much better.

I am not too worried about the cart contents showing - it'd be nice but I can live without it.
