If you allow shipping to the US then you will have to have the state dropdown in place.

Our developer had a very long discussion with one of PayPal's guys about this and this was the only way they could get it to work and as you say it's not a perfect solution. We asked them if they could prevent the 'change' button from appearing if they couldn't verify the address but they said that they couldn't do that.

I know but I don't ship to the US so I don't have a 'State' dropdown.
I couldn't make out, from your post, whether it was required by Paypal for all orders or just for US ones.

It's a shame Paypal can't just tell us it's 'unverified' if the address doesn't match, rather than allowing the customer to edit the information but thanks for looking into it.

I don't currently use that (because the address formatting doesn't work in it) but it's easily reinstated, if need be.

I know this tread is about the normal PayPal - and we are using PayPal pro - but I hoped that by implementing these changes it might also solve my "no address supplied" problem.

However it didn't - Tracy what else do I need to do to get the address to transfer for PayPal pro?

Sorry to bring up this old post, but can anyone confirm if this will work with v10, I have had a couple of orders through on a (work in progress) site and the customers address does not show on PayPal.
