hmm..well it overwrote my secret key for Protx but, then again, I was upgrading from 8.5.3 to 9.0.3 and not from another V9 version.
Maybe that made a difference then
(still think the secret key and email info should with WITHIN Actinic's payment configuration though and NOT in the script!)

However, on querying with HSBC if they could associate my merchant number with AP, they didn't know what I was talking about and I gave up. Actinic sales weren't able to help either.
As has been stated, you need to quote "Creditcall". We are connected to all of the banks, but sometimes they don't recognise the Creditcall name. If this happens, just get the name and number of the person at the bank and pass it to Neil Bayton in Actinic Admin. We have a well rehearsed routine where we say :

      "You haven't heard of Creditcall?"

"That's right, never heard of them. We're not connected to them."

"Well try looking at customer XYZ. Which PSP are they connected to?"

      "Uh. Creditcall."

"So you have heard of them now?"

      "Yes, I suppose so".

      "Great, let's rock and roll."

Did that. Made no difference whatsoever. I spoke to three different people at HSBC who all said the same - "wossat?" They didn't even understand the word "associate" and try as I might, I couldn't get it into their thick heads what I wanted them to do.

Actinic Sales gave me the name of someone to try but when I phoned HSBC once again, the guy said, "oh he's only a signature at the bottom of a letter so I won't be able to find him".

          That's really irritating.

Can you try and get the name of the person who is actually telling you this stuff at HSBC, and also their direct number?

Then we can pass to Neil to resolve.

I can assure you that we have live merchants linked to HSBC.

I spoke to streamline and mentioned actinic payments and the women said she had not heard of them. I oppologies and explained it is creditcall, as soon as i mentioned it job done, quoted my fsb membership and got 2 merchant accounts setup for nothing.

I thought HSBC was the local bank? guess not local enough then

When I spoke with Streamline I told them I was using Actinic Payments and they knew straight away that it was Creditcall without any prompting.

We have been using AP with streamline for a couple of months now, at first they said they couldn't do it, then they wanted a fee to set it up with creditcall, when I said I would go elsewhere they changed their tune.

Every HSBC person except the last one was in India. The line was terrible, each time they had to call me back. Hardly surprising, given the many thousands of miles of satellite paths between Harrow and Mumbai ..

Today I had to call HSBC again on an unrelated matter. This time the call was answered in Manila ... which turns out not to be a bad spelling of Milan, but the capital of the Philippines. Hey ho.

This is bonkers because I've been using AP with Streamline since about February/March!

They need a kick up the backside (although they're not alone, it would appear!)

                              American express offer

I signed up for the recent Amex offer via Protx as I have a lot of US customers, but when i download the orders from Actinic it doesn't distinguish between payments (Streamline or Amex) as they both come through Protx, but on my bank reconciliation I need to as they appear separately - Streamline every day and Amex once a month.

Does this sort of distinction show when Actinic Payments is used? If so, this would be a good reason to move to them.
